The Flush
The Flush, our inspiration to record the
compilation album of the same title with songs
from artists at IGE Records, came about because
of a 'singing toilet'!
It all began with this noisy toilet in our studio,
when flushed a high pitch whine would
accompany the flushing noise.  We recorded it.
The rest is history, from Chuck Lanza adding
guitar, to Ken Brodeur on synthesizer, to Gary
Funke's vocal quips the track evolved.  Along with
pitch shifting and backward masking an answering
machine and a pocket tape recorder were used as effects.  We even used a
cell phone in creating the delay effect on the vocals by recording the answering
machine while holding the cell phone near the answering machine's speaker!
You can see the studio control room (inset) where all the recording took place.
The background is a distorted pic of the same room, different angle!
